I started a few canvases at the same time and all of them have taken very different directions. For this piece I concentrated totally on gold tones, using texture to add depth. I love the warmth captured in this piece.

Canvas - Trust
I've been working on some canvases recently. The painting and working of layers is slow, but I love seeing them come together - I'm always surprised by the final results - its never what I imagine starting out.
The image is printed on linen using digital grounds, then layered on a painted canvas, and over painted again. Various embellishments are added to the final piece.

Karin's Tag - Sea
Karin chose her theme as Nature / Sea for our tag swap. I was blank for quite some time on this piece, but was really happy when I started to pull the sandy colours together, and incorporate a real twig and some hemp string! Real live nature - LOL!!! Hope you like it Karin.

Happy Birthday Jo
So 3 posts in one day - has to be a record for me. But not only did I want to share Jo's birthday card with you, but also urge you to check out her blog where she has samples of her new stamp line! So big congrats Jo, on your birthday and on your big achievement - your own stamp line!!!
Pink Paislee - Cards
I got some lovely Pink Paislee papers and wonderful prima blooms from the scrapbook store at the recent class / crop. These were perfect for some special birthday cards I was making.
April Challenge
Karin set us the challenge to create a bird themed piece using the Tim Holtz Faux Batik Technique.
This was a great challenge to get me off my backside and try a technique that I hadn't tried before. And I had great fun playing with it. My finished piece is a little bird house, constructed from card, and decorated using the batik technique and some regular embossing. I embellished with some birds and beads on the hanging mechanism.
