SW - Focus on the Photo

I got these wonderful papers at Scrap-a-ganza earlier this year, and knew I wanted to use them with this photo. The focus on the photo theme over at ScrapWest seemed like the perfect opportunity.

We've been on holidays for the last week so thanks to everyone who has left comments and tagged me - I'll be catching up with you all really soon.

The Botanic Gardens

Last October Bank Holiday we visited the fabulous Pumpkin Patch at the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. We had such a lovely time I really wanted to visit again this year. As we're off for a break next weekend, we went a week early this year.

We were lucky enough to catch some of the Sculpture in Context display which just finished up.

Given how much I love Autumn colours I just couldn't resist so many wonderful opportunities for glorious autumnal shots.

I really liked this shot, it somehow captured the warmth of a lovely autumn day, without seeming like another boring landscape.

One of my favourite things about the Gardens is watching the squirrels scamper about and play. They always make me smile.

And of course I couldn't resist a few dramatic 'arty' shots ;-)

Finally while I was downloading the shots from the day at home, I looked out the window to this scene and had to capture it.

You just have to appreciate life when you have a day like this. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

SPS

It feels like forever since I've taken photos and had fun with the camera. So this weekend I decided to make up for lost time!

Here's an idea from Her Space: My Space, which I like to check in on every so often, and it's called, SPS (or Self Portrait Saturday).

Well after a good walk around the wonderful Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, I sat down to chill out and thought here's a perfect opportunity for some lazy photography! Here are 2 SPS shots from me......

SW - Fancy Framing

Here's what I created for ScrapWests Cyber Crop this weekend. The ladies produced some amazing classes so if you haven't checked them out yet - get over there NOW!

SW - Autumn Glory

Carolines challenge for this week was "Autumn Glory". Well I just love autumnal colours so really enjoyed this.

SW - A Stitch in Time

I have to admit I was having trouble with this theme, no inspiration was coming. Then earlier this week I thought I need to get ScrapWest done, and I also need to make a birthday card for Carrie - and suddenly it all fell into place.

I love Carries vintage style, and often seek inspiration in her amazing work when making cards and ATCs. So here is my vintage take on a stitch in time....

And of course a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish to Carrie too!

Scrapfest by the Lee

I spent the weekend in Cork at Scrapfest by the Lee - a craft event organised in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness. It was a great weekend, with loads of fabby classes, shops and crafty ladies.

I was over the moon to win first prize in the Layout Challenge for my LO "Simply Me". And 2nd prize for a Thank You card I made from the LO leftovers.

I made the above LO with one of the photos Kirsty took at Crafteire in Beckys class. Isn't it just a gorgeous LO inspired by the use of 'white space'.

Ruth was the best hostess over the weekend - that's her above looking very downcast on winning a crate of beer ;-) Thank you so much for your kindness Ruth. I had so much fun with you and the kids, I hope I get to see you all again soon.

Finally I love this photo I took of Joanne, the cast of the light gives a wonderful glow to the image.

SW - Sisters

Last week our ScrapWest theme was Sisters, and I cheated a little bit because I wanted to show off this LO I did for Carries Wedding Album earlier in the year.
